Mary "Mamie" Burns, 86, of Ashland, passed away Thursday at her home.

Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Gucwa Pytko.

She was a retired garment worker, having worked in the local garment industry.

She attended St. Patrick's grade school and was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Burns; two sisters, Lillian Reiff and Sophie Kauffman; four brothers, Stanley, who was killed in World War II, and George, Anthony and Bernard Pytko.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Pillus, New Philadelphia; a brother, John Pytko, Gilberton; three sisters, Helen Carr, Dolores Leister and Rosalie Gelches, all of Buck Run; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Stanislaus No. 2 Cemetery, Minersville. The Rev. Leo J. Maletz will officiate. Arrangements are by Donald J.
