Born June 30, 1994 in Bowling Green, KY, Austin was the son of J. Scott Evans and Mishele Stettenbenz Evans. The Evans family had resided in Charlotte since 1997 and moved to Lake Park in 2003. Austin had attended Sardis Elementary School and was an avid reader and music lover. He enjoyed a variety of music from classical to western. He was also very artistic, and like every child, had his own collection of treasure.
Austin is survived by his parents, J. Scott & Mishele Evans; brother, Perry, all of the home; sisters, Amanda Baur of Louisville, KY, and Jesica Baur of Charlotte; grandparents, Donald and Kay Stettenbenz of Henryville, IN, Nell Smith of Waco, TX, and Marcus and Martha Evans of Dallas, TX; great grandmother, Clara Shaw of Fitzgerald, GA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1623 Carmel Road, with Reverend Gale Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to A Child's Place, PO Box 33302, Charlotte, NC 28233.
Carolina Funeral Service and Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.
