Kathy Sue Traylor was born October 24, 1960 at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina to father Jesse Melvin Traylor and mother Cleva Olive “Libbey” (Jones) Traylor. She lived in the Monroe/West Monroe Louisiana area during her formative years and was a graduate of West Monroe High School. In the winter of 1975 Kathy met David Vincent Pace at a Fair Park Baptist Church Youth fellowship. They married the following August 22, 1976.
Kathy was a loving Mom, Mama, and Mother to her three daughters and a devoted wife to Vince. He often commented that until Lenae, the youngest, left home, he had never heard the sound of the alarm clock in the morning. Kathy would awaken to the alarm, prepare breakfast for Vince and the girls, and then awaken them to prepare for the day ahead.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father Jesse Melvin “Ray” Traylor. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Vincent Pace, three daughters, Lauraleigh Scruggs and husband Nathan of Benton, LA, Lesley Pace of Mississippi, Lenae Endsley and husband Dennis of Shreveport, LA, brothers Mark Traylor and wife Cindy of West Monroe, LA, Sean Traylor and wife Misti of Pleasanton, CA, Paul Parks and wife Shontea, of West Monroe, LA, sister Maggie Hill and husband Vince of Klammath Falls, OR, and stepmother Helen Traylor of Klammath Falls, OR. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, to whom she was known affectionately as “Myam”, four step grandchildren, and 10 nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank Kathy Ann Smith who was more closely a sister to Kathy than a cousin, Paula Power, our cousin, who lovingly cared for Kathy the final 6 weeks, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Mark Traylor, Paul Parks, Frank Davis, Logan Sullivan, Nathan Scruggs, Dennis Endsley Jr., Brad Pace, and Eugene Tunstall.
