Leslie Buist George, 88, of Aiken, SC, beloved husband of sixty-six years to the late Mrs. Doris Rodgers George, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Born in Augusta, GA and a lifelong area resident, he was a son the late Arthur Buist and Margaret Skelton George.
He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy, He retired from the Savannah River Site after twenty-nine years of service and was an active member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #150, Augusta, GA. Mr. George was a charter member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Aiken, SC. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Mary Leslie and Jim Bunch, Jerry Arthur and Cynthia George and Harry Rodgers and Dianne George, all of Aiken, SC; siblings, William Skelton George, Cape May Courthouse, NJ and Bengovan McNease, Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Navy Honor Guard, will be held in the Historic Bethany Cemetery, Aiken, SC.
