On November 18, 2017, John C. (Jack) Finck passed away. Jack was born in St. Louis, MO to John D. and Theresa A. Finck. He grew up in McAlester, OK where he was educated through high school by his beloved Benedictine nuns. Jack interrupted his early college days by joining the U.S. Air Force where he served as a cryptanalyst during the Korean war, being posted to numerous sites including the Pentagon and Ft. George Meade, MD. Jack eventually returned to Tulsa, OK and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa. His career centered on data management and computer systems analysis, and programing for numerous private and government offices. As a patriotic member of the American Legion, Jack serviced in numerous elected and appointed offices in both Post 109 in Halethorpe MD and Post 1 in Tulsa, OK. As a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Jack served as Charter Grand Knight of St. Benedict Council 10648 in Baltimore, as well as Charter Financial Secretary of St. Mary's Council 13313 in Tulsa. He enjoyed four years as a District Deputy for the Maryland State Council. At the time of his passing, he was a current member of Notre Dame Council 2901. Possessed of keen mind and natural inquisitiveness, Jack was extremely well read. His hobbies included stamp collecting, photography, baseball (go St. Louis Cardinals!), American Western novels and movies, and music of all genres. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 1:00pm at St. Benedicts Catholic Church 2612 Wilkens Ave. Baltimore, MD. 21223. Interment following at New Cathedral Cemetery.
