In 1940 she and her parents and two siblings lived in a house they were renting for $15 a month at 1321 West Cucharras Street in Colorado Springs, CO. Her father worked as a road control laborer for the WPA, with an income in 1939 of $620 for 32 weeks of work.

Barbara Lee Walton, 78, of Moberly, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, in the emergency room at Moberly Regional Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack while bowling. Barbara was born July 25, 1939 in Colorado Springs, CO, to Thomas Mahlon and Esther Josephine (Mortimer) Hall.

Survivors include her children, Darla Nielsen and Marilyn Pierce both of Colorado Springs, Marvin Walton of Yoder, CO; daughter in­­-law Tacey Walton of Colorado Springs; several grand, great, and great-great grandchildren; a brother John Hall of Canyon City, CO, her significant other Bill Lorton of Moberly; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Melvin Walton, three sons Richard Eugene Walton, Roger Lee Walton, and Douglas Alan Walton; brother Jim Hall; and two sisters Karen Boland and Doris Newby.

Barbara enjoyed bowling and loved to do crafts, especially sewing.
