Jordan Craig Austin, 22, of Chatham, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center after battling depression for many years.
He was born July 22, 1995, in Springfield, to Rusty Lee and Shannon Alexis Hagnauer Austin. Jordan was proceeded in death by his father, Rusty; great grandma Marie Hagnauer; uncle, Gary Schafer; grandparents Wanda Rutherford, Tiny Pryor and Ozella Pryor.

Jordan attended Glenwood High School and was ready to receive a certification in welding from Lincoln Land Community College. He was a welder at Certified Tank and Manufacturing Company. He enjoyed modifying cars, and was a member of BSL (Barely Street Legal) Performance Team. Jordan valued friendship and treated friends like they were family. Most times he set aside his own illness to help others. He also loved animals, especially his pet dogs Diesel, Buster, Zeus, Titan, Thor, and his pet cat, Sophie.

He will be greatly missed by his mother and stepfather, Shannon and Jay Sexton of Chatham; sisters, Jenna Austin, Cassidy Sexton both of Chatham and Vanessa (Drew) Carpenter of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother, Forrest Sexton of Chatham; grandparents, Jimmy Hagnauer of Chatham, Dorothy Austin of Rochester, Gary (Janet) Schafer of Lincoln; Wayne Sexton (Dolores Jackson) of Virden; aunt Kathleen Hagnauer-Giambalvo (Greg) of Palm City, FL; and his niece, Addalyn; and many friends.

His family will greet friends from 3pm-6pm, Sunday, November 26 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, 62629. Funeral ceremony will be held at 10am, Monday, November 27, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham, with Rev Sara Isbell officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
