He was a faithful member of Old Path Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edna Carpenter; brothers, J.D., Bill, Nick and George Dale; sisters, Juanita, Charlotte, Mildred and Faye.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma Carpenter; sons, Richard and Pam and Bryan and Renee'; grandchildren, Stephen, Austin, Riley, Jerrica, Jenny Faye and Mandy; brother, Frank and Francis Carpenter; sister, Joanne and Clifford Nelson; special friend Martha Hatfield and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the funeral service at 7:00 with Reverends Richard Carpenter, Bryan Carpenter and Eddie Hinton officiating. Graveside service and interment will be 1:00 pm Friday, November 24, 2017, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
