Chattanooga - Word has been received of the death of OPAL SQUIRREL BENTLEY-HENDERSON, 87, of Chattanooga.
Funeral was held Monday at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, with the Rev. Don Greenfeather officiating.
She died Thursday, March 15, 2007.
Burial was in the Charley Cemetery, Sperry, under direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
She was born on Feb. 14, 1920, in Ramona to Isaac and Ela Charley Squirrel. She was a retired Boeing Inspector for the Saturn 5 moon rocket. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chattanooga. She was also a member of the Loyal Shawnee Tribe and an involved member in all tribal affairs. She attended powwows and tribal dances.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Terry Bamburg, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Donnie and Alli Bamburg, Bakersfield, Calif., Aaron and Amy Bamburg, Omaha, Neb., and Kylie Bamburg, Lawton; great-grandchildren, Dasan Bamburg, Bakersfield, and Conner Belton, Lawton; a brother and his wife, James and Gayleen Squirrel, Miami, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Henderson, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.
