Mrs. Howard was a native of Harrah, Okla. She had lived in Empire and Denair since 1932. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, Ernest Dean Howard of Denair and Joyce Marie Massengale of Turlock; sister, Ruth Pearl Hanson of Modesto; and seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, Modesto. Burial will be held at a later date at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the chapel.

The sheriff's office here was asked Monday to search for Mrs. Ruby Howard of Hughson, who disappeared from her home Sunday. She has been suffering from an illness, deputies were informed, and it is believed this may have prompted her to leave.
She was wearing a black coat with a light fur collar and a silk dress of a bright color when last seen. Mrs. Howard is five feet five inches tall and weights 125 pounds.
