Obituary for Carolyn Lavon Rogers Wells
Carolyn Lavon Rogers Wells, born June 27, 1935 in Moss Point MS left her Earthly home November 20, 2017 in Escatawpa, MS.
Carolyn is survived by a son David Wayne (Kristy) Myers, a daughter Alisa Myers (Jack) Malone, 11 grandchildren; Hope, Brandee, Jeremiah, Shawn, Nicole, Joshua, Jonathan, Jacob, Carolyn, Kristina, Jessica, 19 great grandchildren, a beloved sister Eloise “Petie” Park and loving sister in law Jimmie Nell Quinn.
She is preceded in death by her parents Aubie May Goff Carter and Edward Troy Rogers, children; Jimmy Myers & Odessa Myers – Shockley, 2 brothers Edward Jr. & Dalton Rogers and 1 sister Greta Green.
Carolyn spent her informative years in Moss Point & attended Moss Point High School. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age while attending RLDS church. She married James “Jimmy” Myers in 1951. Her life was filled with homemaking and raising children but found time to work at McInnis Florist and eventually purchased the enterprise. Upon the end phase of her life she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Everett “Buddy” Wells in 1983. She became active in local & national politics; she held an executive office with the Jackson County Republican Women for several years. Mrs. Wells was an active volunteer at Singing River Hospital, receiving a 5 year award for her service. Mrs. Wells & Buddy took full advantage of their retirement as they travelled extensively in the U.S. & Canada. Her last years were spent in Escatawpa enjoying her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. As well as devoting many hours to quilting, which she enjoyed over the years. She will sadly missed by all of her numerous friends & relatives who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm on Sat. Nov. 25, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1:00pm in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, MS.
