RICHMOND, VA - Jeanette Parker Nelson entered her Heavenly Home on Friday, November 17, 2017, following a brief illness and 91 years of living and selflessly giving. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Eva Parker, Sr.; her husband John H. Nelson; her daughter Doris and her brother J.R. Parker, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Martha) of South Carolina, David (Michele) of King William, Jackie (Nino) of Midlothian; five loving grandsons, Sal, John and Alex Bussa and John and Matthew Nelson; a sister, Jackie (Cookie) Nichols; nieces, nephews and lifelong and devoted friends, Mabel, Betty and Pat. Jeanette retired from Civilian Personnel at Fort Eustis, VA and was a lifetime member of Denbigh Baptist Church. Her selflessness as a mother was unmeasurable, always putting the needs of the children and family first. Her genuine gift of friendship was a treasure to all who knew her, and she was always willing to help with an open heart. Moma, you will be truly missed. You were our rock, our strength, our united Force. We will love and miss you forever.

The family will receive friends from Noon to 2pm on Tuesday, November 21, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, with a celebration of life service at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
