Roseanita Masyga, age 90, of Austin, died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Edenbrook of Rochester.

Roseanita was born October 15, 1927 in Winona, Minnesota to Peter and Ruth (McAllister) Anderson. She attended Jefferson and Cathedral schools in Winona, and later Riverland in Austin, and beauty school in Mankato.

Roseanita worked at the Dimestore in Winona when she was 17 years old for 38 cents an hour. She also worked at Land O Lakes checking eggs and plucking chickens, and at a box factory in Winona. Roseanita was co-owner with her sister at the Anderson Beauty Shop in Winona in 1949.

On May 6, 1950 she was united in marriage to Conrad Masyga at the Cathedral in Winona. After their marriage, the couple moved to Austin. Roseanita worked with the Queen of Angels church unit, baking, serving and crafting for every wedding, funeral and bazaar. She enjoyed reading, painting, singing, dancing, crafting and baking. She and Conrad volunteered to help teach other adults to read for many years. Roseanita was a member of Sons of Norway, a leader for Brownies, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and volunteered with 4-H. She also worked as a home health aide.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Rena Marlene) Masyga, Prescott, WI, Dawn (Robby) Rogers, Austin, MN, Patrick (Denise) Masyga, Bloomington, MN, Kristine (Barry) Heine, Albert Lea, MN; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Jeraldine Werner, Austin, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Masyga; her granddaughter, Rachel “Shelly” Pratt.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Mayer Funeral Home with Brandon Masyga officiating. There will be a 5 pm CCW rosary on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5-7 pm and also one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
