On the eve of November 15, 2017, the Angels came with loving arms to escort Lucy Jackson to her heavenly home.

Lucy Jackson was born on December 28th, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama to the union of the late Tommie Ellison and Viola Fitzpatrick Ellison. She was their only child.

Lucy attended schools in Alabama and in her later school years attended Central High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She met and married Melvin Hamilton Sr. in 1946 and from this union, four children were born, Gloria Jean, Melvin Kenneth, Tommie Lee, and Phyllis Ann. After the demise of her first husband, Lucy remarried in 1978 to Willie H. Jackson who is now deceased.

Lucy was an active member and mother of Leviticus Baptist Church. She was an Eastern Star member and worked various jobs during her lifetime, Giant Tiger Warehouse and Value City Department Store. Lucy also worked as a domestic engineer at various hotels and office buildings and as an In-Home Caregiver.
Lucy enjoyed traveling and shopping at the Thrift stores. She stayed on the go and if you found Lucy at home, you would find her "puttering" around in her flower garden.

Lucy was affectionately called "Granny" and measured the blessing of being the Matriarch of four generations. She would often say "God has been awfully good to me, I have lived a good life, I have no regrets."

Lucy leaves to cherish her memories four children, Gloria (Dennis, deceased) Little, Melvin (Yvelyn) Hamilton Jr, Tommie Lee Hamilton, Phyllis (Dennis) Dillard; grandchildren Tunsia (Al) Herbin, Dennis Jr. (Vernita) Little, Monita (Darren) Taylor, Raymond Laster deceased (Erika), Tryphena Hamilton and Shakirra Hamilton, DeShawnee (Reginald) Johnson, Melvin Hamilton III, Melinda (Marcus Jr.) Moore; great-grandchildren, Lance Jr., Latierra, Layce, Tasia, Ashley, Deione, Darian, Darren Jr., Ebonee, Rayven, Chrisshaunna, Rayvon, De'Aircus, Shawnyce, De'Qucon, Regina, Kya, Marcus III and Mia; great-great grandchildren, Javion, Saniah, Ayden, DaNaria, Destiny, Desani, DeShanna, Shane, LaNiya, Juciz, Jermiah, Karri and El; extended families, the Liggins, Lynn and Shaw Families and a host of friends.
