Funeral services for Ozias T. Blitch, Sr., of 2887 Lenox Ave. were held at 3 pm Tuesday in the Memorial Chapel of Seashole Funeral Parlors. The Rev. Alan R. Chalmers, Episcopal minister of Green Cove Springs, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Leslie E. Sanders, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Jimmy Riddle, Don Poole, Randolph Boree, Marvin Pace and Clarence Holland. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Blitch died Sunday afternoon in a Jacksonville hospital. He was a native of Middleburg, born there April 1, 1876 and came to Jacksonville in 1941 from Orange Park. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Blitch was a farmer. Surviving are one son, Ozias T. Blitch, Jr. of Jacksonville, two daughters, Mrs. M. W. Joyner of Darlington SC and Mrs. Susan Elizabeth Fitzgerald of Walnut, Kan; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Greer of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Pearl Brooker of Green Cove Springs; four brothers, F. L. Blitch of Jacksonville; H. C. Blitch of Fairfax, Ala., R. E. Blitch of Coral Gables and R. H. Blitch of Qunicy and three grandchildren.
