Nelda Dean Johnson, 89, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, and went home to be with Jesus. She was born April 6, 1928 in Bois D'Arc, MO and lived near Republic/Halltown, MO most of her life, moving to Shawnee, KS to be with her children in 2014.
Nelda married Efton Howell Johnson on January 2, 1959 and they shared 44 years together on the family farm until his passing in 2003. She is survived by her son, Howell Johnson and daughter, Sharon Watson. She is preceded in death by her husband, her mother, Elsie (Carter) Creed, parents-in-law, Homer and Tressie Johnson, sister-in-law, Velma Johnson.
Nelda worked at Springfield Tablet Company, Republic Schools and later in home health for Oxford Healthcare for 17 years, retiring in 2001. She loved reading, traveling, cooking, gardening and sewing. She became a Christian at a young age in Springfield, MO.
Burial in John's Chapel Cemetery.
