Sara Virginia Frye Nichols, age 91, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC.
She was born March 27, 1922 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late David B. Frye and Kate Owen Frye.
In earlier years Sara was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, in Kannapolis. Later, she worked many years at the V.A. Medical Hospital in Salisbury, NC until her retirement in 1983. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she and her husband were active in Sunday school and Bible Study for many years.
Her family fondly remembers her as an avid cook and baker for her family and friends. She also had a special love for gardening where she grew vegetables and flowers as a special hobby to relax by. She loved her Bible and was known as a fixture in the neighborhood and always had a big heart to do for others. Anyone who met her found that she was a great conversationalist and knew a lot about the family histories of many people. Devoted to each other, Sara will always be remembered as a special lady who loved and took care of her devoted husband, Harry, of twenty-seven years.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
