He was born in Linton, Indiana to Marvin L. and Doris Garrett.
On September 12, 1981, he married Connie L. Garrett. They were blessed with 2 children, Randy Jr. and Michelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Connie.

Randy was first married to Wilma Kathleen Cochran in 1977. Kathleen died in Jan 1980, 2½ weeks after giving birth to a son, George Earl that died. Despite what Randy's obit says, he was married to Connie Lynn Zinsmaster, vice Sparks, on 12 Sep 1981. This was Connie's only marriage so Zinsmaster was her maiden name. Connie's father was Woodrow Sparks, but Connie did not use his name. Her mother is unknown.

Cochran-Garrett wedding set for Oct. 9
Miss W. Kathleen Cochran and Airman Randy E. Garrett have completed plans for their wedding which will take place at the Friendly Grove Baptist Church at Lewis at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Cochran of Jasonville rte one, and her fiancé is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Garrett of Jasonville rte one.
The announcement invited all relatives, friends and classmates to attend.
A reception in the church basement will follow the ceremony.
