Donna Darlene Adams, age 66, of Starke, Florida passed away on December 13, 2016. She was born in Gainesville, Florida on September 22, 1950 to Opal Curry and the late Donnell Dixon. Donna grew up in Gainesville where she graduated from Gainesville High School in 1968 and soon after started her longtime career as a Secretary with the State of Florida. She had a love for life and always enjoyed bringing smiles and laughter to every conversation. She truly lived a selfless life full of helping others. She assisted in raising her six siblings and her kids and grandkids were her heart. Donna enjoyed cooking, shopping at yard sales, consignment shopping, and going to the beach as she loved the water. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her mother, Opal M. Curry of Gainesville, FL; her children, Shannon (Shad Lane) Ford of Starke, FL and Travis Ford of Starke, FL; her brothers, Charles Dixon of Sarasota, FL, Marty Dixon and Arney Dixon both of Gainesville, FL; her sisters, Cindy (Mark) Francis of Orange Park, FL, Debbie Dixon of Gainesville, FL, and Monica (Jenn) Scott of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her five grandchildren, Brittany (Jonathan), Ryan, Taylor, Emily, and Mason; her great grandson, Cason; and the father of her children, Quintin Ford of Providence, FL.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel with Reverend Bobby Epps officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please contact the funeral home for details. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
