Howard “Pete” Hamilton, 79, of Manistique, Michigan passed away peacefully on November 17, 2017 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.
Pete was born June 18, 1938 in Pulaski, Wisconsin the son of Gerald and Modesta (Bronkalla) Hamilton and attended East High School in Madison, Wisconsin.
On October 23, 1962 he married the former Karen L. Olson in Geneva, Illinois. They made their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, California, and Arizona before moving to Manistique in 2011.
He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything he could get his hands on. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time and playing with his feline companion, “Pinkie” who passed within minutes of Pete’s passing.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Karen Hamilton of Manistique; children, Tracy Hamilton of Garden, MI., Sandy Hamilton-Lovick of Madison, WI and Lorrie Simmons of Madison, WI; and his step-son, Brian Bennett of Danville, IN; grandson, Christopher Toro (Michelle Markoff) of Sherman Oaks, CA; great-granddaughter, Bryce Bailey Markoff-Toro of Sherman Oaks, CA; step-grandson, Christopher Bennett of Avon, IN; and his sister, Rosemarie Jones of Fox Lake, IL; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
A private celebration of Pete’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
