~~Joe Morris Shelton, age 85, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 16, 2017. An honored Air Force Veteran, Joe served war time. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Lott Shelton.
Joe is survived by his son, Terry (Cheryl) Shelton; daughter, Debbye (Kelly) Dabbs; grandchildren, Joseph Shelton, Laurie (Davy) Hunt, Trent (Kristen) Dabbs; and his great grandchildren, Thomas Hunt, Kelly Hunt, Walker Hunt, Veda Dabbs, Cohen Dabbs, and Leona Dabbs.
Joe had a servant’s heart; his life verse was John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me”. He helped start Second Mile Ministry at his church; he also preached at the Rescue Mission in Biloxi, MS.
The family would like to thank Janice Penquite for her love and care over the past seven years. Memorials may be made to Second Mile Ministry, 1560 Popps Ferry Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colonel Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS 39157 from 1:00pm until 2:30pm. The graveside service will be on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNEAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport is serving the family.
