Floyd V. Bernhardt

89, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 17, 2017. He was born February 21, 1928 to Arthur and Mamie (Tanner) Bernhardt.

Floyd graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1945. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Floyd married Donna Skyles on September 28, 1951. They were married for 52 years. He was the owner of "Bernhardt's Body Shop". He also owned and invented the "Positive Putter". Floyd was an excellent baseball pitcher, bowler, and baseball coach. He coached hundreds of boys through the Pike Little League. He loved fishing, hunting, baseball, golf, watching sports (a true Pacer fan), being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Floyd was baptized on October 25, 1964 at North Liberty Christian Church where he was an active member for over 40 years. For the past 10 years he has been a faithful member of Chapel Rock Christian Church. Floyd was a wonderful husband, Dad, grandfather, and great grandfather!

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy Bernhardt; his sister, Helen Bruder; and his wife, Donna Bernhardt.

He is survived by his sister, MaryAnn Fella; his children, Buddy (Ann Burke), Donovan, David (Barb Casida), Dennis (Cheryl Moore), Mark (Cindy Whyte), and Dee Ann Dunipace (Steve); his 10 grandchildren, and his 8 great grandchildren. He loved all of his family dearly. He left a great Christian legacy for all that knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Rock Christian Church, with calling from 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, November 20, at the church, and from 1 - 2 p.m. on the day of the service. Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allendale Christian Church Camp at 4605 S. Allendale Drive, Trafalgar, IN 46181.
