ROSEMARY (CODA) GRIFFIN
Age 79. Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Martin A. Griffin, Sr.; loving mother of Barbara Buchwach, Martin Griffin, Jr. (Kristine), Maria Givens (John), Sandra Treser (Scott) and Christopher Griffin (Anne); loving Nana of Dan (Cristin), Matthew, Leah, Sophia, Chloe, Vincent, Coleman, Nicholas, Tyler, Sarah, Anna, Maura, Christopher, Jr., Caroline and Thomas; loving great-Nana of Miles and Will; beloved daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Romito) Coda; beloved sister of the late Sandra Coda; beloved Aunt of Beau Berman; and dear sister-in-law of Norma and (late) John Gula, Matthew and Donna Griffin, Michael and Nancy Griffin, and the late William and Carole Griffin, Thomas and Fran Griffin; also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Rose or "ReRe", as so named by her baby sister and as known by many, married her childhood sweetheart and family's paper boy from Shadyside, a city neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Marty and Rose started raising their family of five children in that same neighborhood. They eventually left Shadyside and moved to Mt. Lebanon. She then joined Marty on his assignment locations to England, Singapore, Miami and St. Petersburg, before moving back to Mt. Lebanon in the late 90s.

Storybook memories are etched in the minds of all who ever visited the Marty and Rose home. Whether it was a traditional holiday, a Steelers Sunday, or a simple visit by friends, neighbors or family, all were welcomed. You would be greeted with open arms, a genuine smile, and then typically fed her famous spaghetti and meatballs and Italian tossed salad. Although Rose never raised her voice, her home was loud during large gatherings. Phones and computers were replaced with laughter, touchdown cheers, and lively conversations in all corners. Rose was warm, caring, and had unending love. Her most endearing quality may be the gift of listening. She had an openness about her that was comforting and seemed to always be able to provide expert advice.
