Marjorie Abbott Miller, 89, formerly of Driftwood Apts., died Sunday, January 1st, at St. Johnsville Nursing Home where she had resided since 2007. Marjorie was born July 1, 1922 in Long Island, a daughter of George W. and Marguerite (Clapham) Abbott. She graduated from Sea Cliff High School and later, moved to the Sloansville area before moving to Driftwood Apts. in 1994. She had worked as a secretary for the former Johnson's Garage in Sloansville, as a clerk for Double Day Dorant Co. in NYC, and as a bank secretary for State Bank of Sea Cliff. She was a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Sea Cliff, Christ Church Episcopal in Duanesburg and, recently, a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Cobleskill. She was married to Francis "Midge" Miller on January 5, 1946, until his death on April 1, 1994. Survivors include one nephew, Gaylord "Pete" (Irene) Abbott of Sloansville; one niece, Donna Abbott of Scottsdale, AZ, and several grandnieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in the Sloansville Valley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marjorie to Scho-Wright Ambulance Service, PO Box 325, Schoharie, NY 12157. The Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie and Central Bridge and the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill are assisting the family during their time of need.
