Francis Miller "Midge", 73, of the Driftwood Apartments in Schoharie died at home on Friday after a long illness.
Born in New York City, Mr. Miller had lived in Sloansville from 1951 until last month when he moved to Schoharie. He had also been a resident of Sea Cliff, Long Island.
He was a graduate of Hicksville High School on Long Island and attended the former Cobleskill Ag & Tech College in Cobleskill.
Mr. Miller was employed in the parts dept of the former Northeast Motors in Central Bridge. He was also a rural postal carrier for the Sloansville Post Office from 1965 until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Assoc.
An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Miller served in Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He attained the rank of sergeant in the 104th Timberwolf Infantry Division and received a Silver Star.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Abbott Miller, whom he married on Jan 5, 1946 and a niece, Marion Haley of Freeport, Long Island.
Services will be held on Tuesday at the Langan Funeral Home in Central Bridge. Burial will be in the Sloansville Valley Cemetery.
