NELSON, CLEVELAND CLARENCE "BUSS," 89, of Clearwater, formerly of Brooksville, died Friday (Oct. 19, 2001) at Westchester Gardens Rehabilitation and Care Center, Clearwater. He was born in Seattle and came to Florida in the late 1970s from Illinois, where he retired as a machinist in the physical plant of the University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill. He worked in a civilian position as a ship machinist at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He was a member of Spring Lake United Methodist Church, Brooksville, the Masonic Lodge in Urbana for 50 years, and was active in prison ministry work at the Sumter Correctional Institute, Brooksville.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Linda Nelson, Clearwater; a son, Cleve Allen, St. Petersburg; two sisters, Edith Nicholson, St. Petersburg, and Betty Carlisle, Evansville, Ind.; a brother, Frank, Evansville; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
