Charles was born on August 20, 1933 to Jack and Myrtle Gilchrist Foust in Hornsby, Tennessee. He was a mechanic for Darnell Motor Company in Bolivar, Tennessee before his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Reeves United Methodist Church in Middleton, Tennessee. Charles was also a Master Mason.

He is survived by: His wife of 30 years: Annie Grace Kirkman Foust of Ripley, MS: Two daughters: Sandra Foust Richardson and Anita Smith Lindsey (Ronnie) all of Ripley, MS: Two sons: Troy Foust (Tina) of Corinth, MS: Dennis Smith of Ripley, MS: 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren: And a special Cousin: Portia Watkins of Double Springs, AL:
