Esther “Merle” Willis Seago, 79, passed away on November 15, 2017 in Madison, Florida. Esther was born December 23, 1937 in Quitman, Georgia to Calvin W. Willis Sr. and Nora Willis (Griffin).

She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Lovett, Florida. She was a homemaker who loved sewing and being around family and friends.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband William Ray Seago, her father Calvin W. Willis, Sr., her mother Nora Willis(Griffin), 1 sister Nomie Strickland, and 2 brothers Orion Willis and Ray Willis.

She is survived by 2 sons Kevin Seago and Calvin Ashley Seago (Melanie) of Greenville, Florida; 1 brother Calvin W. Willis, Jr; 3 sisters Nell Crosby, Jujaun Croft, Winifred Houghton; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren as a well as a host of nieces and nephews.

All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison. An internment service will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery at a later date.
