Myrtle Mae "Mutt" Davis Threadgill, 100, of Asheboro, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Homeplace of Burlington in Burlington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017, at First Evangelical & Reformed United Church of Christ, Asheboro with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Born May 8, 1917 in Randolph County, Mrs. Threadgill was the daughter of the late Claud and Nannie Phillips Davis. She was a member of First Evangelical & Reformed Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Women's Guild. Mrs. Threadgill loved watching football, baseball, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, who loved to share her "table" with others. Her family loved her ready wit and dry sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Kirby Threadgill; sisters, Elma Davis Hodgin, Novia Davis Cox, Velna Davis Ward, Sarah Davis Miller; and brothers, Robert Melton Davis and Luther Glenn Davis.

Survivors include her daughter, Martha T. Stewart and husband, Bob of Burlington; son, Tony Threadgill and wife, Pat of Asheboro; grandchildren, Donna Lott (Eric) of Raleigh, Jay Threadgill (Vicky Delp) of Asheboro, Katherine Wachter of Virginia Beach, Margaret W. Barnwell of Winston-Salem; great-grandchildren, Emily Lott, Phillip Barnwell, James Barnwell and Mary Elizabeth Barnwell.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday at the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Evangelical & Reformed Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
