GLENDA M.(SHOUP SHATZER) BROOKS, age 70, of Shelby, died Wednesday afternoon November 15, 2017 at OhioHealth Shelby surrounded by her family.

Born March 31, 1947 in Bucyrus to Glenn & Helen (Traxler) Shoup, Glenda was a Shelby resident since 1966. She was a 1965 graduate of Buckeye Central High School and had worked many years at the Shelby Mutual in the computer department. She also worked in the deli at Cornell's and ended up working in the mill at the Tuby where she met Jim and fell totally in love. She will surely be remembered for her witty sense of humor and making people laugh.

Glenda was an avid golfer and got a hole in one at Woody Ridge, which was her favorite course. She and Jim were married in Tennessee and thoroughly enjoyed their yearly trips looking for bears, driving the back roads and taking in the scenery. She and Jim also loved going to the casinos and actually won many times. They were a special couple and now they're together again.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Amy) Shatzer of Tiro and Scott (Allison) Shatzer of Shelby; two step-sons, Jeff (Courtney) Brooks and James Brooks, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Saulee, Seth, Tyler, Alex, Gavin and Grace Shatzer, Zoe McNary, Alexis and Carter Brooks; her twin sister, Linda (Dr. Roger) Mills and Margaret Smith, all of Shelby and cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James M. Brooks in 2013.

Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory.
