Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Star of Hope Chapel in Crest Haven Cemetery in rural Claremont with Rev. Mike Baker officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Crest Haven Cemetery. Full military rites will be performed at the graveside.
Mr. Thomas was born December 13, 1925, in Richland County, the son of Noah and Mabel (VanMatre) Thomas. He married Marie Ellison on March 13, 1948, in Olney. She survives.
He was a retired oil-field driller. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of American Legion and VFW.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Marie Thomas, of Olney; daughter, Linda Holland, of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; son, Larry Thomas and his wife, Pauline, of Olney; daughter, Janet Ausbrook and her husband, Brent, of Olney; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
