James Richard Franklin “Frank” Crews, 50 of Odum died Thursday, November 16, 2017 after an extended illness. The Pierce County native had lived most of his life in Brantley County and the last 9 years in Odum. He was a member of Odum Baptist Church and a former truck driver with Western Express Trucking. Frank enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing but most of all, he was a family oriented man. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Plen and Irene Crews, Revis and Macie Edwards.

Survivors are a wife, Ava Marie Crews of Odum; a son, Brandon Scott and Katie Crews of Darien; a granddaughter, Kaydence Marie Crews; his mother, Shirley and Ted Thornton of Screven; father, Gary David and Cheryl Crews of Nahunta; a father-in-love, James Lee of Jesup; 4 sisters, Amanda and Mike Mason of Valdosta, Angela Lee and Jason Day of West Palm Beach, Fla., Lisa Harris of Jesup, Brittiany Thornton of Johnson City, Tenn.; a brother, Lamar and Pam Crews of Screven; two step-daughters, Mia and Terry Lee of Waycross, Myra and Steven Brady of Baxley; 5 step-grandchildren; two step-grandmothers, Lois Thornton of Screven, Geraldine Edwards of Hoboken; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. Michael Whelan officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, New Hope Cemetery Road in Hickox, Brantley County. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2017 at the funeral home.
