Growing up, he attended school in Newell where he graduated from Newell Providence.
Bruce was the father of three daughters.
Bruce enjoyed being outdoors, especially boating, golfing and fishing. He was an avid fisherman and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. In his spare time, he loved antiquing. Bruce was proud to help others as a drug and alcohol counselor. He had the ability to make others laugh and had a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kurstin (Brittney) Pierce of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters: Lois (Allan) Todd of Holstein; Cynthia (Bradley) Pedersen of Alta, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Lynn) Krogsted of Newell, Iowa; special friend, Jackie Yearous; nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and many friends.
