Linda Irene Tyson, age 73, of Mt. Vernon, MO, passed away at 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at her home. She was born October 14, 1944, in Miller, MO, the daughter of Alwin C. and Marjorie Lee {Hastings} Koehnken.
Linda was a 1962 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Among the jobs Linda did in her life she worked for the Mt. Vernon School district, was a clerk for Fables Gift Shop and at the First National Bank. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Mt. Vernon.
On November 20, 1970, she married Wayne Tyson in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wayne; daughter, Nicole Riley and her husband, Ozzie, of Mt. Vernon; son, Jamie Tyson and his wife, Nicole Moss, of Hampstead, NC; two grandsons, Tyson and Major Riley and one sister, Mary Everett of Kansas, OK.
Her parents, Alwin and Marjorie and a grandson, Teagan Moss-Tyson, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Mt. Vernon. Burial at Ozark Prairie Cemetery.
