Jane was the daughter of James Walker and Jessie (Baker) Walker. She grew up and received her education in the Copan community, and was a graduate of Copan High School.
Jane and Ronald Cameron were married March 6, 1971. They were parents of Becky and Shane. Jane was a homemaker but she was also very interested in genealogy research. She spent over 30 years traveling the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas doing genealogy research and verification. She spent many hours walking through cemeteries, sitting in museums and back rooms of court houses diligently digging and exploring the past. Her main focus was Cherokee genealogy and history, solving riddles of the past and finding family roots for her family and for friends. She also got to travel several routes of the Trail of Tears, bringing to life the tragedies of her family's past.
Jane's grandchildren were the joy of her life - their close presence always kept her smiling and happy – her love was not comparable. She was loving and forgiving to a fault, always.
She is Jane survived by her husband and children, five grandchildren, a brother, Ed Burkhart, and a sister, Jimmie Sue Fecht
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cynthia Lowe.
Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
