A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm EST, on Friday, November 17, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends Friday two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Parsons was born on September 26, 1939 in Clio, AL daughter of the late Curlie Wade Arrington and Janie Lou Fleming Arrington.
She worked for many years with Dr. Floyd Jarrell and later retired with 25 years of service from OBGyn Associates. Mrs. Parsons was a long time member of Summerville Baptist Church, where she worked with the food closet, the decorating committee and sang in both the adult and senior choir.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Homer and Nellie Parsons, a brother-in-law David W. Schrage and a nephew, Bill Bowers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James Homer Parsons, Jr.; a daughter, Tammy Renee Parsons; a son, Gregory James Greg Parsons, Sr.; two sisters, Joy Agnes Arrington Schrage and Mary Lou Arrington Bowers, all of Phenix City, AL.
