Clara Belle Barton the daughter of Daniel Lester and Maxcie Mildred (Grover) Flory was born on January 10, 1922 near Modesto, California.
Her early years were spent on the farm near Salida, California helping with the family dairy where she learned the value of hard work and a cheerful spirit. She later worked at Garber Poultry as a bookkeeper.
Clara Belle was married to Lloyd Barton on December 26, 1953 and started housekeeping in the Ripon Area. To this union was born 4 children; Rachel Barton of Modesto, California, Margaret Bowerman of Linneus, Missouri, Mary Anne Barton of Modesto, California and Paul Barton of Modesto, California. Even as she aged well beyond four score years and ten, she still loved to go for walks and spend some time outside around her garden. Her active life came quickly and gently to an end as the Lord called her home in the early morning hours of November 12, 2017 at the age of 95 years 10 months and 2 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2014, her parents, two brothers Grover Flory and Earl Flory, one sister Mary Sell, two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Keirn, Vernon Peterson, two sisters-in-law Vida Keirn and Alia Flory. She is survived by her children, one son-in-law, Gary Bowerman of Linneus, Missouri, one daughter-in-law, Helen Barton of Modesto, California, one brother-in-law Lee Sell of Modesto, California, one sister-in-law Marjorie Peterson of Modesto, California, 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral to be Friday, November 17, 2017 at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 7901 Yosemite Blvd, Modesto, CA with burial in the Wood Colony Cemetery
