Frances Ruth Poynter Jenkins, 70, wife of 40 years to Wayne Jenkins, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her home. Born May 17, 1947 in Lexington, Frances was the daughter of the late William and Juanita Cawby Poynter.

Frances formerly lived in "Little Texas" in Lexington prior to moving to Lawrenceburg. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg and formerly worked as a cashier for Redi Mart, a dental office receptionist, and for Bluegrass Energy.

Along with her husband, Frances is survived by five children; Kirk Turner, Troy Turner, Lexington, Kentucky; Lesha Turner, Lancaster, Kentucky, Angela (Romeo) Welch, Nicholasville,Kentucky and Anthony Jenkins, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dell (Sol) Gomes of Florida and Debbie Poynter of Winchester. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Aly Welch.

Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
