DEATH OF MRS. A. P. CHAPPELL
Mrs. A. P. Chappell died of rheumatism at her home on High Street, Wednesday morning after a lingering illness of over a year. Deceased, whose maiden name was Mina A. Paul, was born in Kane County, Illinois, August 30, 1855, being at the time of her demise, 47 years, 10 months, and 15 days old. She was married to John Doty on March 1872 and to them two children were born, both of whom survive. Mrs Grace Curtis of Ivyeville and Mrs. Myers of Nodaway. She was married to Alfred Pierce Chappell on October 24, 1900, and since that time they have resided in this city moving to their home on High Street in March of this year.
Mrs. Chappell had been in poor health since February of 1902 and for over a year had been an invalid. She was always very cheerful and bore up under lingering affliction with Christian fortitude. She has lived in this city and vicinity for about 28 years, and has an exceptionally large concourse of friends because of her cheerful disposition.
Aside from her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death three brothers, and three sisters. Their names are Henry, Orlon, and Delano Paul, the two former living in Aurora, Illinois and the later in Sacramento, California; Mrs. Ethel Green of Bald Mound, Illinois; Mrs. S. A Martin and Mrs. C. C. Custing of Aurora, Illinois; both of the later being present.
The funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock today from the M. E. Church of Iveyville. Interment being in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
