Born Nine Partners, NY Dutchess Co. Along with his father & four brothers, members of Ethan Allens Green Mt. Boys. All were part of the force that took Fort Ticonderoga from the British in May 1775. He was then dispatched with Col Seth Warner to secure the British outpost at Crown Point. He served in Seth Warners regiment and was part of General Montgomery's Canadian expedition, and participated in the battles at Hubbardstown, Bennington & Saratoga. He later served as commissioner of safety & sequestration and is listed as one of the original proprieters of Grand Isle, VT. NY State archives show him to be among the Overseers of the poor in Plattsburgh during the period 1797-1803 and that the 5 Apr 1803 meeting was held in his long room, the last to be held before the new Court House was completed.
