She was born June 12, 1914 in Hampden Township, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Weisensel, the second oldest of eleven children. She attended a one-room school house with her brothers. Ruth worked several years helping out family until she was employed as a chef for a doctor in Madison when she met the love of her life, Maurice Hanson. They were united in marriage February 8, 1939 in East Bristol.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Maurice, four brothers and four sisters.
