Katherine M. DePotter, age 98, of St. Charles died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at her home after a battle with cancer.

She was born February 27, 1911, in Batavia, IL, to Arthur William and Margaret Katherine Anderson.

Mrs. DePotter grew up in Batavia and graduated from Batavia High School and was a member of the Batavia Congregational Church. She attended Northern Illinois University. She taught school until her marriage in the Batavia School District. Later she worked at Dukane Corporation in the Accounting Department for ten years. She had a love for books and was an avid reader.

Mrs. DePotter is survived by her son, Peter of St. Charles, two brothers, Donald Anderson of Batavia and Russell (Vida) Anderson of Phoenix, AZ, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Peter, a sister, Dorothy Anderson, six brothers, Arthur, Robert, Kenneth, Richard, James, and John.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 3rd, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
