Sherri grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in 1980. She married Edward Smith of Farmersville, Texas on June 17, 2017. Sherri was a strong, hard-working woman who was devoted to loving and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She attended church at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Farmersville. She enjoyed life to the fullest, always had a smile on her face, and never left home without her cowgirl boots. Sherris smile was a ray of light and her happiness was contagious to all of those around her.
Sherri is survived by her loving husband, Edward Smith; her son Michael Jordan and wife Casie; daughter Heather Jordan; mother, Barbara Carney; brother, Elvis Ray Long Jr. and wife Carrie; sisters, Karla Prough, Brenda Alexander and husband Donnie; step-children, Kathie Purcell and husband Glynn, Montana Smith, Cheyenne Bailey, McKynzie and Levi Smith; grandchildren, Madyson and Kyler Langley, Austin and Ridge Browning, Julia Purcell, Colton and Avery Bailey; niece, Jennifer Rocha and husband Jose.
She is preceded in death by her father Elvis Ray Long.
Visitation will be held at Hursts Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville on November 14, 2017 from 6pm-8pm.
Funeral service will be held at the Cowboy Church of Collin County in Princeton on November 15, 2017 at 10:00am with Pastor Jon Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at the Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
