William Melvin DuBois aged 91 years of Sun City West, Arizona passed away October 14, 2017 at his home. Born June 20, 1926, in Millville, NJ he was the son of the late David Irvin and Abbigale Patton DuBois. William served proudly in the US Navy as a pilot from 1944 - 1946 when he was honorably discharged. In 1947 he met Shirley Dumbauld Gerhart in Lancaster, PA, and soon married after he completed college in 1951. He adopted two daughters, then had two sons and a daughter. Unfortunately the first son born died when he was a year and a half old. William worked for General Electric as an accountant, after graduating from college, till his retirement in 1986. During his career with General Electric, he worked in Bridgeport, Connecticut from 1951 to 1959, and was then transferred to Phoenix, Arizona until 1972, then transferred back to Bridgeport, and he lived in Fairfield, until his retirement, and finally moving back to Arizona. His wife Shirley passed away in 2000. In 2002, he remarried his high school sweeetheart, Dorothy Lee, who passed away in 2010. Surviving William are his three daughters, Polly, Peggy, and Susan, and his son Bill Jr., five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.. The interment will follow.
