Mrs. Mary E. Norris, widow of Dr. William H. Norris, died yesterday at Mercy Hospital from Bright's disease. She was confined to her bed for only three weeks and was in the hospital one week. She was born in Baltimore in 1836 and was the daughter of James S. Suter, City Water Engineer just after the Civil War and builder of the first Gunpowder water works. For years she had been an active worker in women's organizations of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, was on the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Maryland General Hospital and on the board of lady managers of the Free Summer Excursion Society.

Surviving are her two sons, William S. Norris, of this city, and Dr. Milton D. Norris, of Eldersburg, Carroll county, and six grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon from the home of Mr. Norris, 2943 St. Paul street. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. George C. Peck and burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
