Martha Elizabeth Privett Roark age 80 passed away at her home in Flat Ridge, VA on Tuesday October 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born in Grayson County on November 8, 1936, to the late Howard & Della Bolt Privett. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Bonnie Lou Roark; brothers Lee Privett & Ray Privett; and a sister Florence Stone. She enjoyed watching and listening to the birds. She also loved picking on anyone she could. Most of all, she loved spending time sitting and talking with her family & friends whenever they came to visit. She was also a member of Burtons Chapel Church in Flat Ridge.
Survivors include one son David & wife Trish Roark of Chilhowie; three daughters Jeannie Odham, Betty Baldwin, both of Seven Mile Ford, and Ann & husband Lee Rutherford of Flat Ridge; brother James Privett; five sisters Jean & husband Jerry Young, Lola & husband Rev. Mike Porter, Peggy & husband Rev. George Russell, all of Flat Ridge, Mary & husband Junior Galyeon of Volney, and Helen Evans of Atkins; six granddaughters; three grandsons; nine great grandchildren; and sevreal nieces & nephews.
The family would like to express a special Thanks to Wanda Wiles, her loving & caring Hospice Nurse, and her caregivers Jean Young & Peggy Russell.
