Mrs. Velma A. Collins, age 101, formerly of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017.

She was born in Adairsville, GA on May 7, 1916, daughter of the late Harvey McKnight Morrow and Maimie Burley Morrow. Mrs. Collins was of the Baptist faith. She owned and operated Velma’s Beauty Shop for many years. A talented artist, she enjoyed painting china and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul D. Collins; and son, James Morrow Collins; great-granddaughter, Alexis Collins; and sister, Melvia Wood.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Jamey (Carrie) Collins of Kansas, Rodney Collins of Adairsville, and Brooke Collins of Cartersville; great-grandchildren, Bryce Lockhart, Addison Kay, Devon Dines, Alex Jamison Collins, Kylee Collins, and Ashlyn Collins; and several nieces.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
