Agnes R. Claassen, 91, Akron, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 1990 in a Stratford, N.J. nursing home following a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron, with Rev. William Flemr officiating. Robert Brown, soloist, sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "My God and I", accompanied by Carol Harris, organist. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Pallbearers were Bill Claassen, Matt Gale, Michael DeLuca, Ralph DeLuca, Anthony DeLuca, and Angela DeLuca.

Mrs. Claassen, the former Agnes R. Raver, was born April 27, 1899 at Akron, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Wilson) Raver. She was a livelong Akron area resident. She married Henry Claassen. The couple farmed in the Akron area. Mr. Claassen died Jan. 6, 1969. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and Women of the ELCA.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean McNamara of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jacqueline DeLuca of Laurel Springs, N.J.; four grandchildren, Ralph, Angela, Anthony and Michael; two nieces, Betty Platko of Magalia, Calif, and Margie Starbuck of Vista, Calif., and. one sister-in-law, Lu Claassen of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte and a sister, Wilma Boden
