Christine Nance Wallace Case, 84, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at NHC Health Care Center.
She was born May 6, 1924, in Gadsden, the daughter of Wiley A. Nance and Mattie Lafollette Nance. Mrs. Case was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church for almost 50 years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 390, where she was Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of a canasta club for many years and also enjoyed bowling. Mrs. Case retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems, where she was a reproduction assistant at the Y-12 plant.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Wallace, and wife Cathy, Oak Ridge; daughter, Frieda Murphy, Lancaster, S.C.; grandchildren, Eric Murphy, Charlotte, N.C., and Christopher Wallace, Oak Ridge; great-grandson, Ryan Roberts, Fort Mill, S.C.; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday at Calvary Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Dr. Steve McDonald officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. (CDT) at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 163 N. Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
