Born to Garland E. Long, Sr and Chrystel Bishop Long. Glenn graduated from Garden High School in Oakwood, Virginia, class of 1963. He retired as an employee of Fairfax County, Virginia, where he worked as a firetruck mechanic. Glenn retired to Delray, West Virgina. He was an active member of the Rio-Delray (WV) Rotary club, where he had served in positions as Director, Vice President and President.

Preceded in death my his daughter, Dawn Marie Hart, his father, Garland E. Long, Sr, mother Chrystel Bishop Long and an infant sister, who died at birth.

He enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty.
